The LOKOMAT for our children

A fundraiser is currently underway, in partnership with other Foundations and private partners, to purchase the "LOKOMAT Pro". Worth more than $ 600,000, this new therapeutic device will allow the CRME to implement much needed functional locomotor therapies for children who suffer from cerebral palsy , neurological disorders and who have suffered a head injury.

We therefore ask for your help with the purchase of the LOKOMAT for the Centre de réadaptation Marie Enfant (CRME), which will help improve the quality of care provided to the children and allow the center to become a key player in pediatric rehabilitation in Quebec.

The device, a robotic walking assistant for children, automates the intensive rehabilitation training of walking on a treadmill.

For the past 76 years, the CRME has provided quality care to children suffering from physical, cognitive and speech impairments. The CRME cares for more than 5,000 children per year throughout Quebec in 12 specialized programs. Motor disabilities are a key field of expertise at the CRME. The children, accompanied by their families, work extensively with physiotherapists to develop their autonomy to the maximum.

We invite you to watch the video featuring Emmanuel Mavridakis, who is being cared for by an interdisciplinary team of 10 specialists at the CRME. The LOKOMAT will help Emmanuel gain more autonomy in his everyday life.

Thank you to all the students of Lower Canada College (LCC) who raised $ 2,828.00.
