The Fonds Mélio de la Fondation CHU Sainte-Justine aims to improve the autonomy and the quality of life of the 5,000 children with locomotor and speech impairments cared for annually at the Centre de Rehabilitation Marie Enfant. The Fondation accomplishes this by supporting rehabilitation research and by financing the planning and the development of specialized services at the CRME.

The Fonds Mélio de la Fondation CHU Sainte-Justine

Our Fondation was created by a group of corporate directors chaired by Simone David Raymond. Founded in February 1965, the Corporation sought to raise and manage funds in an effort to finance various activities aimed at improving the well-being of the many children cared for at the Hopital Marie-Enfant.

In 1989, Albert Hudon, then president of the administration board of the Corporation des Gouverneurs, initiated a discussion in hopes of redefining the role of the Coporation. Given the scope of the Support Fund, and faced with the growing needs of the hospital, the members decided to convert the Corporation into an official Fondation.

Therefore, in 1992, the Corporation des Gouverneurs became the Fondation Hôpital Marie Enfant, chaired by Albert Hudon. This foundation received various equipment requests.
